What do you see when you do this

They are there to remind you that text is being hidden. Often this is just a blank line, delete the carriage return character and the plus will go away. The other option is to just Export to .pdf and then read it with Preview.

But did you save as PDF and view the document?

What does it look like when you print it out?

Alternately, you can print to PDF and then view in preview.

I would try deleting the entries and reentering the data. It appears something got messed up.

Check your Text line spacing and I'd suggest Text Inset but can't find anything in Pages 5.5.3. Guess that's just something else missing.

Where did you find it? I was looking and couldn't locate it in Pages 5.5.3.

Are you using Pages '09?

PS I knew I had found it before. Text Inset is available in Textboxes and Shapes but nowhere in Table Cells that I can find and I think I have exhausted everywhere.
