why are thumbnail pictures in iphoto blurry

Im currently on a MacbookPro running OSX Yosemite 10.10.03.

The new update caused a revamp on iphoto which looks great, my only concern is when i open iphoto, the thumbnails or the photos that first appear once you 'click' on the Album tab, appear blurred.

When i open the actual image, the clarity reverts to normal.

any ideas why this is so?

Thank you all!

Are you seeing the blurred thumbnails, when open if or in the new photos for mac application?

  • In iPhoto try to repair the thumbnails by launching iPhoto while holding down the alt/options key, then select "rebuild Thumbnails".
  • If the problem is in the new "Photos", just wait till all background processing has been done. If your library is large, it may take a while.
