Grey Screen when playing iTunes 12.2.1.27

iTunes 12 for Mac: Play movies, TV shows, and other video

After reviewing the above thread, it all sounds so simple. But, again, there are challenges.

On a 2013 MacMini, running Yosemite and the latest update to iTunes, no content will play in iTunes nor Quicktime. The content simply appears as a grey box, no video, no sound. iTunes library checking has run as the content lives on an external drive. All the content is there and is in good shape, not corrupted or anything.

SImply can't get the content to play from MacMini - however it will play on AppleTV.

Any thoughts here?

Sounds like iTunes cannot find the content.

Try starting iTunes while holding down the Option key, then Choose Library and navigate to the one on the external disk.

Is iTunes 12.2 out ? Or is your version 12.1.27? I really hope they haven't done yet another update - the last one was only a couple weeks ago
