HELLO APPLE, IS ANYONE LISTENING???? YOUR APP STORE IS BROKEN AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED!!!!!
Paid for OS X Lion on April 22 and still can't download it.Two hours on the phone with various techs, and all I could get from Apple were a bunch of incredible technical excuses. Incredible as in not very credible.
First they said it was because the product had to be prepared for the machine I was installing it on, and that this would take one to three days. So when I called three days later and I was still getting the same error message, they told me it was because it won't download when the OS used to download it is greater than Lion. So I booted from an install of Snow Leopard on another drive and got the same message. Seriously? Apple has spybots that know what OS is running on my machine and can prevent a file from downloading? I don't think the technology exists. I can download PC software on my Mac that won't install, but it still downloads.
My big question is: why would they lie? If there's a problem, can't they just admit it and fix it? I'm guessing that like most big corporations, they don't want to acknowledge their mistakes when fixing them will cost them money and possibly hurt their reputation.
I've been an Apple customer since 1986. All told my family and I have owned two desktop and 10 different Apple laptops, starting with the Mac Plus. I've never had issues with Apple customer service before, possibly because I'm good at servicing my own machines and rarely have had an issue I couldn't resolve on my own. This kind of service is not what I would expect from a company of Apple's stature.
So far as I am concerned, they've stolen my money!!!
