Apr 28, 2015 8:23 AM in response to norchidby ltatge,I'm going to disagree on getting notifications in both places. I already get notifications from three sources at work: computer, iPad and iPhone. When there is a large burst of emails that go out at work, I already get everything three times (this can be 30 emails in as many minutes, not including personal so 90-100). Getting it a fourth time would drive me insane. I think what we need is the OPTION to get notified both places.

Apr 28, 2015 10:26 AM in response to KVB71by Evakami,I was able to fix this problem by simultaneously resetting my phone and my watch. I'll let you know if it maintains throughout the day.

Apr 28, 2015 12:10 PM in response to WeeRedby Hsin-Tien ,Hello
I had the same problem in the past few days, very upset and was thinking to return the watch.... I just called Apple Support, the representative is so helpful, he told me: 1. need to wear the watch 2. keep your iPhone on "Locked" status. Because if your iPhone is UnLocked, the watch thinks you are using the phone and you don't need any notification.
I tried and tested, now I finally heard the Alert sound to notify me I have a email. Hope it works for you too.

Apr 28, 2015 2:16 PM in response to WeeRedby Cmodman,So from what a rep told me.. and what i've discovered on my own today, after contemplating returning it (or selling it higher on Craigs, lol)... Is that you gotta wear this sh1t snug on your wrist.. No getto looseness unfortunately. And, what the rep told me is I have to make sure my mail app on my mac, and my iPad is locked... which to me is BS.

Apr 28, 2015 8:55 PM in response to SF_Billyby MavisDraculasIphone,That's what I was told too, however, sometimes I get the notification on my watch anyways while I'm on my phone, which I prefer.
Anyways I had the same problem with text messages, then I fixed it. Turn off cover to mute located in the apple watch app on the iphone. It's going to be under the Sounds and Haptics selection. Once you turn it off, and you get your notifications on the watch, feel free to turn it back on. Hopefully this helps!
I still don't get email notifications though. If I stumble upon a fix. I'll let you know.

Apr 28, 2015 8:57 PM in response to Cmodmanby MavisDraculasIphone,Could be this too, I think I remember playing with the notifications when it was off my wrist. Looks like you have to wear the watch to get the notifications. I'll test that and let you all know.

Apr 28, 2015 9:21 PM in response to Cmodmanby MavisDraculasIphone,Yeah after reading all these posts. I'm not sure if there is a legitimate sure fire way to fix these problems. Different steps worked for some and not for others.

Apple WatchAre you guys saying that the notes in the Watch App. on the iPhone do not describe what is actually happening ? They say ----
"Notification alerts appear on Apple watch when you are wearing it and it's unlocked. And you won't get alerts on your Apple Watch if you're actively using your iPhone ---"
If this really is an accurate description of what is happening, then it perhaps needs a slight change in a future update to allow, by choice, both Watch and iPhone to show the desired notifications ?

Apr 29, 2015 9:40 AM in response to Dan Mitchell1by MavisDraculasIphone,That would be nice, have the phone notifications go off regardless. I understand why notifications don't come in when you're not wearing the watch. It would have been nice if these instructions were made obvious. I'm not one to consult a user guide.

Apple WatchThe above instruction is found in the "Apple Watch" App. on the iPhone, in My watch/Notifications.
See also the notes associated with "Notifications Indicator" and "Notification Privacy" - where a "wrong" setting will indeed influence the appearance/non-appearance of the aforesaid notifications.
And look at your "Show Alerts" settings.

Apr 29, 2015 10:58 AM in response to WeeRedby SLLN,I haven't had any problems with my messages being pushed to my watch.
I was having problems with my emails from Mail showing on the watch—some were showing up, but others were not, specifically my Gmail account mail notices. My Gmail notifications from the Gmail account were showing up on the watch.
I checked all of my setting for both the iPhone and the watch and decided that it had to do with the "push" versus "fetch" settings for the Mail account for the iPhone. My two accounts that were showing up had "push" enabled. My Gmail accounts through Mail did not and my Gmail accounts through the Gmail account did.
I customized the Mail notices being sent to the Watch to only include the "push" accounts, then enabled notifications for the Gmail app. Now I am getting all of my notifications, but some are coming from the Mail app and the Gmail ones are coming through the Gmail app.

May 1, 2015 9:16 AM in response to SLLNby Dan Mitchell1,I see in the iPhone/Settings/Do not disturb, where Dnd is set to a schedule, that if "Always"is ticked then "Incoming calls and notifications will be silenced while iPhone is either locked or unlocked"
Could this setting influence the watch ?
-
May 1, 2015 9:37 AM in response to Dan Mitchell1by SLLN,Good point, but they weren't showing up when DND wasn't enabled.
The notifications were fine; it was the Gmail. The Gmail did finally show up via the Mail account, but it was always delayed because Gmail is fetched and not pushed.
The free app CloudMagic takes care of the problem. It pushes the Gmail so it arrives when it is sent. The notifications for the same Gmail accounts in my iPhone mail account do eventually show up, but sometimes 20-30 minutes later. Apple must have fixed the problem because they weren't showing up at all before.
BTW, the Watch app for CloudMagic also allows you to delete the Gmail you don't want right from the Watch. I find that really handy.

May 1, 2015 10:06 AM in response to SLLNby Cmodman,I'm done trying to find solutions, I know its early on, and maybe updates will fix it. But for me, who is really active, the whole not being accurate over tattoos is a end of the line thing. Going to the store today to return it...
