Cannot add TOC to my template

Hi there,

I've created a template using Pages 5.5.3. I set styles of each text element (headings, body etc.). Now I want to generate a TOC so the user can simply just hit UPDATE button and the TOC is updated automatically.

Perhaps is something I missed. I even opened the template on my own and save it as Pages file and tried to generate TOC. All options (Section, Document, To Next Occurrence) are not accessible.

Is something I missed during template construction?

Any valuable input would be appreciate it.

Problem solved. Turned out that I designed the template using Page Layout option and I put all my text in text boxes. I switched to Word Processing, added text main body area and then I could generate the TOC without hassle.
