Q: rMBP 2015 Wake Reason: ARPT (Network)

I can't seem to find out what is waking my Mac up so much. Battery life on standby is terrible. Snippet from running "syslog | grep -i "Wake reason"" through Terminal:

Can't seem to find out the issue via Google. I have extensively searched.

Appreciate any help.

P.S. this is a duplicate from rMBP 2015 10.10.3 Wake Reason: ARPT (Network). I do not know how it ended up in the OS X Mavericks section because I clearly remembered choosing Yosemite from the dropdown list. Anyhow, that one is closed and I would appreciate any help I can get from this section of the forum.

Thanks.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch,Early 2015), OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

May I know what Internet Accounts you have signed in, as well as what options are checked for them to sync data?

Sure. I've only the iCloud account available in Internet Accounts Preference. I've nearly enabled all options available for iCloud syncing except "Back to my Mac". Is there a way so we can report this to Apple rather than we, consumers, gathered here and messed with it ?

Well, there's always the bug reporting that you can do, but I don't know if they'll respond soon enough. The only probable time that they would fix it is when they release the next patch for OS X. In the mean time, I would just wanna disable whatever is causing that wakelock. Unfortunately, so far, only the both of us are experiencing it.

This is definitely an issue with the Wi-Fi on my part. Turning off my Wi-Fi before putting the device to sleep will not trigger any ARPT (Network). Have you tried testing out anything else?

Yeah. I happened to carry my MBPr out for the whole afternoon. That's more than 6 hours. When I'm back home, I waked my Mac and check the terminal. No wake-upa at all! Since I was out, there's sure to be no connectivity going on. It just verified your point. Without WiFi connection, it won't wake!

I have a bunch of these wake up as well.  And yes, I closed the lid and the battery still drain.  Mine is a Macbook 2015 though.  Yosemite 10.10.3

System Preferences/Energy Saver - is Wake for network access checked?

Maybe it's a bug which is shown only in 2015 models... Mine is 13" MBPr 2015.

Don't know if Derek checked that option, I turned it off a long long time ago. To no avail, same thing kept showing up.

There is no such option for "Battery" tab in Energy Saver.

    HI everyone,

I found this thread here. Experiencing exactly the same issues on my mid 2015 MacBook Pro 15. It wakes up nearly every 15 minutes during the night. If I deactivate WiFi there is no waking up anymore.

Is there any other fix aside from always deactivating the WiFi connection?

    Regards,

    Stephan
