App stuck updating

The Keynote app on my iPhone 6 won't complete the update. The icon is stuck with "Loading..." below it. I have tried to redownload from App Store numerous times, as well as rebooting the phone. I cannot delete the app by holding the Home button as when I click the X the pop up says: Delete "" , (there's no app name) and clicking okay does nothing. When I go to Preferences - Storage I can find the App listed (with no name) and delete it there. After deleting the app, reinstalling from App Store hangs at same spot.

Hi David,

It may help to delete the app via Preferences -> Storage, then force close all open apps before resetting your iPhone.

Force an app to close in iOS

http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT5137

Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset

If the Keynote app still won't successfully install, the next step would be to reinstall iOS on your device by placing it in Recovery Mode, then choosing Update in iTunes.

  1. Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
  2. Put your device in recovery mode.
  3. When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond or doesn't turn onhttps://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201412

Sincerely,

Allen
