Q: how come it didn't register my stand?

Sometimes I stand up for the hour and even move around a little but it still registers that I didn't stand for the hour. any way to fix that hour or how can i improve it so it recognizes that I stood better?

Same here. I got up from my desk and walked upstairs to lie down. After about 20 minutes, my watch alerted me that I hadn't stood for an hour. Hmmm....

I'm working with the technical support now. hope we figure it out.  it worked for me when i was walking around town, but doesn't work when i'm at home....wondering if it's because i'm on the 20th floor of a high-rise LOL

got off a online chat and then a call with customer service and no solution yet     guess i'll have to try it out for a couple more days and give them more info.

it worked a couple times this morning, but just now i got the notification to stand for the hour and i got up and hopped around for 2 minutes, no stand, then i tried to hold my phone in case you have to have your phone on your body....hopped around for a minute, still no stand.....i'm really hoping it's just my watch is busted and it's not some poorly designed feature especially since cook was promoting the sit/stand problem as the next cancer and how this was going to help solve that.

I cycled 60 minutes on my exercise bike and when I'd finished the watch told me to stand as if I'd been doing nothing!

i've been standing at a work desk and get a reminder to stand up. uh, how much more "up" can i be? i've also noticed that no matter what i'm doing, sitting or standing, it tell me to stand up at :50 of every hour. please tell me this feature is designed to be more sophisticated than that?! i'm pretty sure an iPhone timer could handle an hourly reminder if that's all it is!

yeah i literally just tried it again. got the notification, stood up and started a stopwatch . paced around the room for a minute.  no dice

please let us know if you figure out how to get it to work better.

    Hi

when you you get the alert to stand try scrolling down and click on ok. Then when you walk round for a while it clicks and says you've done it. I think maybe if you don't click on ok first it ignores what you do. Will keep trying

yeah i just started to come to the conclusion that it only registers if you click ok and do the standing right away then.  i had assumed it was more if you stood at all during that hour.....seems like this feature needs work :S

just tried that on the notification again, and it didn't work this time and i stood/hopped around for 2-3 minutes. i think either my watch is broken or it's just a feature that doesn't really work yet

I'm having this problem too. Was outside playing with my son the first half of the hour- but at 6:50 I was sitting down. Got the alert and walked around, but still didn't get credit for the hour.  Regardless of the alert, I was walking for the first half an hour! If you have to be standing for that one specific minute (X:50-X:51) each hour, that's really stupid.

Guys it only measures your standing every hour, over 12 hours. The idea is that you stand up once every hour if working at a desk or sitting down all day on a lazy Sunday as this will inevitably lead to a brisk walk around. It won't register every stand you do, its not an exercise program.

However, if you like standing up and sitting down a lot this will count towards your calorie goal, which the Apple Watch will measure! :-)

i'm not expecting it to measure every stand. But if you get a message to stand and you do and walk around for a minute it doesn't always register that..It's a bit hit and miss.

I don't need it to register every stand (whatever that even means)- I just don't want it to say I didn't stand up at all for an hour, when I spent half the hour running around, AND stood up when it told me to!
