May 17, 2015 2:55 PM in response to albraydjiby Kyleotis,I thought I was having this problem, but I was really just misunderstanding the red icon at the top of the watch face. I thought it was a low battery alert, but it is really a disconnected from phone alert.
I guess that's what happens when I don't wear my glasses.

May 17, 2015 4:48 PM in response to chias4by Kyleotis,That's a different icon. The red dot is for unread notifications. The red phone with a line through it -which I first saw as a battery- is letting me know my phone is out of range.

May 18, 2015 12:43 PM in response to Pegthom3by Sacha456,TThis is what helped me When after re-booting it still wasn't charging properly. The charger was also quite hot. Then I got the message that this charger wasn't an Apple Supported product! After a close look at the plug I saw it had plastic wrapped tightly around the plug. incould barely see it. after I took that off and plugged it back in... It seems to work!!! It's not warm either i

Oh dear. I wonder how many other people don't realize they still have the plastic on it. I know a lot of people who don't pull the plastic off stuff.
Many years ago my dad gave me his old couch, and after I had had it for a while I realized that the metallic decor going around the base of the couch still had the plastic on it. It was so nice and shiny when I pulled it off, the couch looked brand new.

May 29, 2015 6:05 PM in response to albraydjiby workaholick,Clean the back of Apple Watch with a clean damp cloth. The oils from my skin messes up the charging. Since i do this before i go to bed & put it on charger, it last longer, the following day.

Jun 1, 2015 1:40 PM in response to albraydjiby Prolixian,My charging issue turned out to be magnet interference.
I started having problems as reported above about a week after I got my watch (i.e., even with watch apparently properly seated on the charger, it would heat up but not charge). After having mixed success with various reset combinations, I realized that the problem had not started until I switched from the classic leather to a Milanese Loop band. I had a hard time keeping the steel and magnets separated from each other while charging and it appears that the magnet on the band or the band itself was interfering with function of the charger I started detaching one end of the band and stretching it out flat while charging and I've not had a single problem since (3 weeks now).
I have also tried an after-market charging stand (Spigen) that holds the business end of the charger off the table, letting the loop of the band hang below. This has also worked well, and allows charging without detaching either end of the band.

Jun 5, 2015 11:07 PM in response to albraydjiby RPD1978,I just receive mine today and had the same issue. I attempted both reset option and neither worked. Finally I plugged it in directly to my computer and it started charging (thankfully, after the last reset the battery was so low I couldn't get past the language screen). I then attempted to use the cable with the wall plug. Still didn't work. I have extra wall plugs from my iPhone due to traveling and used one of those and it worked!!!! It may not be the cable or the software, it could just be the wall plug that came with the watch.

Jun 25, 2015 6:10 PM in response to albraydjiby Johnny@1949,I Had this problem as well. The usb end of the charging cable was not fully inserted into the plug in receptacle . It just needed a firm push. Something you can check. Mine works fine now .

Sep 3, 2015 4:20 AM in response to bobbyosheaby adisoffer,Just wanted to share with you guys I had the same experience and it turned out the charger got screwed somehow. It worked for 2 days and then I got the familiar message. I took my watch and charger to the nearest store (we do not have Apple stores here unfortunately), connected my watch to another charger and connected my own charger to another watch. To my relief I found out that my charger is to blame since the store's watch brought up that message, and my watch - connected to a new charger, was finally charging with no errors.
Hope this'll help someone.
