Strange keyboard behavior, beeps but nothing works

Hi there:

Anyone else run into this with the MacBook: three times now after trying to do a command key modified action the keyboard goes into a strange state where anything I type just results in a beep (as if typing with a modal dialog open), but there is nothing open, and no matter what application I switch to I can not get anything on the keyboard to not do that UNTIL I logout and log back in.

The function keys (like spaces or brightness etc) still work. and I can use mouse for anything else.

MacBook, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

Thanks, I tried that just to be safe, but the modifier keys were are already at default. This is intermittent issue, I haven't managed to figure out just what triggers it. But I am pretty sure it is when I am using the Apple/Command key for shortcuts.

The warranty entitles you to complimentary phone support for the first 90 days of ownership.

If you bought the product in the U.S. directly from Apple (not from a reseller), you have 14 days from the date of delivery in which to exchange or return it for a refund. In other countries, the return policy may be different. If you bought from a reseller, its return policy applies.

Thank you for the reply. but I am pretty sure this is software issue, not hardware. I was curious to whether anyone else has ran into this yet, or is it a result of my "migration" from MacBook Air 11.
