Hello, I have an iMac and keep getting this error message when I try to link my gmail?
"Logging in to the Gmail IMAP server "imap.gmail.com" failed.
Make sure the user name and password you entered are correct, then click continue.
How do I fix this? I have update all my software and any other updates. It was a hand me down.

Make sure your g-mail login information is correct. I suspect you have the wrong email or password information. Start by going to Mail - Preferences - Accounts then locate the gmail account in question and enter the correct information.
Thanks for the reply! I know it's correct and I even changed it to be sure. I get an email from google each time I try stating that it blocked my access, see below email:

OK, so what you need to do, is click on the link about "less secure apps". You'll be able to enable those " less secure apps", which include email clients on your Mac! I had to do it with Thunderbird on several computers before.
