iphoto crashing after opening since new update

Since updating last night, my iphoto will open for a few seconds and then crash where I have to submit an error report. This is a new imac with over 2 TB of unused storage space. my operating software is Mac OS X 10.10.3 with iphoto version 1.0 (209.52.0). How can I fix this?

iMac with Retina 5K display, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE is usually related to damaged data. If you can still run iPhoto on your iPhoto Library run the following First Aid routines on it: Option #1, Repair Library Permissions andOption #4, Rebuild Database.

Then launch Photos with the Option key held down and open and convert the newly repaired iPhoto library. See if that will correct the crashing.

Nothing you can do is going to fix this. You need to go back to iPhoto 10.6.1 on Yosemite 10.10.3. If you previously had only iPhoto 10.6, then you need to go to the Purchases area of App store and "update" the iPhoto. This takes awhile. Then restart. Then you should be able to have iPhoto 10.6.1 to view your photos and forget the awful crashing Photos application.
