Trouble reinstalling OSX 10.7 Lion

A friend gave me her old macbook for my kids to use, I deactivated her iTunes account and then erased the start disk per apple support. Now I am trying to reinstall OS X 10.7 Lion with my apple id and it tells me that it is temporarily unavailable. Is there a better way to reinstall, or do I need to try and install a different OS X?

Thank You

If the computer originally shipped with Lion or was upgraded to use Apple's Internet Recovery system, press the Option, Command, and R keys at startup.

If not, you need to use a DVD to install the OS.
