I've tried pairing my iPhone 5 with iOS 8.3 to my new iMac iOS Yosemite 10.10.3 - but the pairing attempts keep failing. I've tried initiating from both devices, but nothing works. Please help!. Thank you.

You can't pair an iPhone to a Mac except for the purpose of sharing its Internet connection. File transfer is not supported. For that, use AirDrop, iTunes, or iCloud. Some iOS apps have their own sync facility.

I am having the same problem. Has anyone come up with a solution yet?
I went to the Apple store and spoke with them. Air Drops work with old and new mac computers but iPhone do not. iPhone 6 and above does not work on old Mac computers like mine (2011 iMac). There no problems with new iPhones and Mac using Air Drop.
