I bought iTunes match. my music is in cloud. how do i access it and add to iPod?

This is what happened and I am not happy.

I hit the sync my entire library button on iTunes while my iPod touch was plugged in via USB. All of my songs were gone in two seconds.

6,000 songs gone instantly. The songs show up on my iTunes library but are not all down loaded from cloud. that would obviously take forever and take up all the space in my macbook.

I paid for iTunes match so they are backed up. How do you get the music from the cloud/match and get it back to iPod?

That is what match is for? right?

A solution would be greatly appreciated.
