I can't sign into FaceTime or iMessage using my Apple ID.

I Have been trying to sign into both iMessage and FaceTime on all my apple devices. And it won't sign into either one of them. I know the password is correct because I am able to use iTunes and iCloud.

but its only with my Apple ID. I signed into FaceTime with my friends account and it worked perfectly fine.

why won't it sign in with mine?

I ran into the same problem after rebooting my iMac just now. Prompted to enter my iCloud Password, IMessage and Facetime.

For the heck of I did change, update my password to be secure.

iCloud, iTunes..etc were fine after the 2 step verification process. However FaceTime, iMessage would simply not accept the new password.
What I did was - I kept entering that password, click "OK", it asks again.

After the 7th, 8th time I was prompted to generate an "APP SPECIFIC" Password.
It gave me a 16 lower case code, I copy/pasted that into the "Password" fields of FaceTime and iMessage, this allowed me to login.
After logging out, it then accepted the new password I created.

Odd, it's the first time this has happened.
