Problems with ibooks and ios 8.3

I have over 100 books on my iPad 2. I have them arranged by author (last name) and release date (not title). They always sorted fine (based on the info I placed in the sort fields) prior to IOS 8.3. Now 8.3 is grouping them by Genre which I didn't ask for and have no way to turn off. I erased the Genre field for all books on my PC and then deleted all books from my iPad. When I re-sync'd between my PC and the iPad, 8.3 did it again. It apparently copied information from the Comments field which I use to contain the name of the main character in the book or got it from some other location if the comments field was empty. I now have a scrambled library on my iPad and it is really frustrating. Is there any way to fix this?
