iPod under warranty can I just take it to a store and replace it, as the support rep told me I can via a case number?

My iPod Touch of four months no longer works the kind support rep told me that they will replace it. All I need to do is go to the apple store nearest to me with the case number and they will replace it?

My wife then told me I need to make an appointment! before I travel 38 miles to my nearest store do I just quote the case number the support rep gave me. Or god forbid my wife is right 🙂 and I have to book a reservation.

Also do I need anything other than the case number?

iPod touch (5th generation), iOS 8.3

You need to make an appointment, otherwise you will have to wait at the store

To make an appointment:

Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar

or send it in to Apple. See:

Service Answer Center - iPod
