why does deleting my playlist on iPad mini removes it also in iTunes on my iMac. I then have to recreate the playlist...

Why does deleting my playlists on iPad mini remove it also in iTunes on my iMac. (I then have to rebuild the playlist...)

Changes you make to your playlists on your device are synced back to iTunes when you sync the device, including deletions. Change the sync selection in iTunes so the playlist is no longer synced to the device.
