iMac don't play PAL DVDs only NTSC.

The PAL DVD gets ejected after a short time. Why? When I insert a DVD with NTSC it works fine. DVD-player starts automatically and plays the disc.

My iMac model is late 2009 with OS X Yosemite 10.10.3

After some investigation it seems that the problem is not with PAL vs NTSC. The problem is that the Superdrive ejects all DVDs with region 2 even if it is set to play DVDs from region 2. But if I insert a DVD with region 0 (all regions) it plays just fine.

If I select show info (CMD+i) in DVD player I see that my Superdrive is configured for region 2 and that I can change 4 more times.

But it will not mount any DVD with region 2!

This is so frustrating! :-(
