IPad mini will not start

I have an IPad mini model A1432. It was a gift approx 2 years ago. It has just stopped working and will not switch on. The screen remains black and the device is just 'dead'. The battery is fully charged. I have tried connecting to my desktop pc but my pc says that the device refuses to recognise or respond. Any advice please? The apple website is full of ideas to resolve problems by using your IPad but does not suggest anything for an IPad which simply does not switch on. Thank you.
