Phone saying engaged/busy when I'm not

For some reason when people try to call me from time to time it says I'm engaged / busy, however I'm not using the phone at all. Next time they try to call me it goes straight through. I have full signal (EE), full battery, updated software, standard factory settings (I.e.not on flight mode or do not disturb etc), iPhone 5s.

any help would be great!

ps. Why does it say at the bottom of this enquiry form that my content was last saved at 5:41am when it's almost 2pm here? Is this a time difference things between countries / servers etc?

Thanks for responding to my query, although on this occasion I have been able to trace the problem back to my service provider EE who say "I can confirm your Incoming call issue is a Known Issue that EE Are working on", but thank you so much for your input. In case anyone else has a similar issue with EE, the 'ticket reference number' is EEIM419589

It sounds as if you have Do No Disturb enabled. Settings>Do Not Disturb. DND can be set so that if you receive a second call from the same number within a couple of minutes, it rings through.
