Apple ID and Password show incorrect but work on Apple Account?

When I open my Mac Pro I am being asked to enter my Apple Id and Password(Apple ID is already filled in correctly) I put my password in and get an incorrect password/apple id notification - I can then go to apple and login into my apple account using this same apple id and password and opens correctly - the same is true for logging into my iCloud and Itunes accounts. any suggestion would be greatly appreciated -

Power Mac G%, Mac OS X (10.4.8)

Do you have a Mac Pro (Intel processor) desktop?

Or a Power Mac (G4 or G5 processor) desktop?

What do you mean by "open" your Mac Pro?

I do have an Intel processor.

When I am turning the computer on from the powered off.

Did this happen before?

What OSX version?

Does it appear to go through a normal boot up?

Does just a window with your ID and blank PW line show?

Are you certain you aren't trying to use your Apple ID login for your system login? They *should* not be the same information.
