Why won't my iPhone and iPad charge with my certified cables?

My iPhone 5s and my iPad both stopped charging with my certified apple cables. This leads me to believe there is a problem with the cables and not my devices, since it's both of them. I've tried plugging them into a ton of different outlets and my computer. There's three cables in total that won't work. I just keep receiving the error message that these cables aren't certified and may not work with my device. I've tried cleaning out my charge ports and nothing will work. They are both completely dead. Any suggestions?
