How do I show album artist in get info?

I have an audiobook that is split into two files, Part 1 and Part 2. One of these files shows the album artist in the Details panel of Get Info, while the other doesn't. Apart from having different chapter names, these files appear identical in Get Info. The problem is that they now have different album artists, and therefore, don't combine as a single album in iTunes. I need to change the inaccessible Album Artist info to match the one I can access. Does anyone know how to do this?

You have to use a workaround due to iTunes 12's filtering of metadata elements by media kind:

  • select both parts of the audiobook, right-click > Get Info
  • on the Options tab, change the media kind to Music - don't click OK
  • switch to the Details tab, update the Album Artist field as required
  • go back to the Options tab, reset the media kind to Audiobook - click OK

Thank you very much, hhgttg27. A succinct and correct answer. I have made the changes as you suggested and I now have a single book/album with two parts instead of two separate part-books.

One thing puzzles me, though. This latest version of iTunes now has a Narrator field in the Details page, but I cannot put anything into it. Weird!...
