Dashboard Widgets

First time, since I upgraded to Yosemete, I am unable to down load a Dashboard Widget for currency converter.

I have located one and downloaded it, but it only shows up as a "Download". How do I move it to my Dashboard, which is accessed by fn12??

MacBook Air, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5), Currently using Yosemite, unhappily
