How do I change iPad lost to found status

A Lost iPad mini has now been found & I need to change the status on the "find my iPhone app". But I can't seem to be able to do this??? iPad mini is turned on & is saying it needs to be restored. iPad mini is connected to wifi, but not registering on the app.
