Q: Merging Libraries in Photos - changing back to the original System Library

I followed some instructions I found to merge 3 libraries in Photos and I noticed that I lost the albums along the way.

Here's what I did:

Library1 -> make system library -> turn on iCloud

Open Library2 -> make system library -> turn on iCloud

Open Library3 -> make system library -> turn on iCould

This, I think merged the photos from all my libraries into one - which is now Library3.

BUT, I lost all the albums that I wanted from Library1.

I want to make Library1 the System Library again - will iCloud/Photos recognize that all those photos are already in iCould or will it try to upload duplicates?

Thanks!

Glen

Are you sure you lost them, and not just "not downloaded them" I had the same problem and now realize that the photos are indeed in iCloud.com, but not on my machine. I consider making a blank new photo library and then turn on iCloud for that to download the bunch. (I had to do it this way to be able to import the library in any case as the migration tool failed several times, so now I just export from Aperture as a full library and do the import.)

Thanks! Looks like I just wasn't patient enough and they hadn't all downloaded yet.
