Just upgraded to yosemite. Macbook now won't wake up normally. Demands password and offers option of restart, sleep or shut down. What can I do?

Hi. It's two years old. When I restart it works okay. But as soon as I put it to sleep I have to start all over again.
You may have require password after wake from sleep checked. https://support.apple.com/kb/PH18669?locale=en_US&viewlocale=en_US You will have to do the reverse of this to uncheck it.

you better avoid sleep at all.
just set it in Energy Saver to never put the disks to sleep, then if you want, you can put two commands in Terminal.app (if you feel safe to do that, otherwise don't):
sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0
and
sudo pmset autopoweroff 0
both ask your account password, it displays nothing when you type it in.

Thanks Lex. If I set it to never sleep, does that mean I have to shut it down every time I stop using it? Forgive my ignorance. That would be as irritating as having to restart it every time I open it up!
No, just close it.
But shutting down has the advantage that a lot is reset, I do it 3-4 times a week.
