wondering how well the new macbook can handle iMovie projects

I create several small iMovie projects in a year. Nothing fancy, slideshows, events, and short movies. I create about half a dozen projects in a year.

Looking to get a new macbook and am interested in the retina macbook. Would this machine handle this kind of workflow.
