Camera missing after update to update to Yosemite 10.10.3 from prev version. How do I get it back?

The camera is missing from FaceTime, and when checking the macbook Air (13 inch mid 2011) system config :hardware-> Camera, I see the statement "No Video capture device were found". The X YOS 10.10.3 was upgraded yesterday 23rd April from XY0S 10.10.2.

Kindly assist. Thank you.

THanks Barney. Although I did not see the missing device as part of the description in both documents , i went ahead and reset the smc and the NVRAM anyway ( in that order and checking the result after each reset) as per instruction however the system stiill do not detect the onboard camera. It is stll missing from facetime and Photobooth.

To clarify my system config as follows:

MAcbook Air 13 " mid 2011

processor 1.8 G Intel core i7

Memory 4 Gb 1333 MHz Ddr

osx yosemite 10.10.3

Appreciate the lead and open to any other suggestions. Thanks.
