I am trying to fill the screen image with the slide only, centered, but it is showing only at the left. I also do not want the number of slides showing. This used to not be an issue with older versions. Please help. Time sensitive.

Are you seeing something like this?
If so, you are using Rehearse or Presenter Display instead of Play
Click the play button or use Play > Play Slideshow; if the screen shows the presenter display as above, press the X key on the keyboard to swap over to Slideshow
If this is not what is displayed, post a screen grab (command option 3) to show us what you are seeing.
