Hello,
I'm trying to import analog video into iMovie using my camcorder's pass-through function. My MacBook is connected to my camcorder via Firewire. From the Import window I'm able to see the video and hear the audio just fine; when I press the Import button, the timer starts ticking. But after I stop importing and close the window, the clip is nowhere to be found. What's going on? I'm using iMovie 10.0.5 on Yosemite 10.10.2.

Just to be sure, are you following the steps in this article about how to import your footage into iMovie?

You may also want to make sure that your camcorder is on the list of supported video cameras -

I know your question is a few months old but I had the same problem and figured it out this morning. The solution is to get QuickTime 7 and upgrade to Pro for $30. Won't have any problem seeing your camera and works like a charm. Maybe someone else searching will see this
