I see no MIDI Devices tab in AUDIO MIDI Setup.app

I'm trying to figure out why only 1 USB port functions for a MIDI interface and think there is an issue relating to the MIDI Audio Setup app. There's no MIDI tab to see the configuration. How do I show what's under the hood as I add a MIDI device via USB cable to my macbook pro?
