AirDrop is not working

I am trying to use airdrop to share photos I have with my mother in law who is sitting next to me But her contact does not show up for me to share with her. I have her airdrop turned on the share with her contacts and I have airdrop turned on to share with everyone as well. We are also on wifi with a strong signal and Bluetooth is turned on both devises. What give? Please advise.

Hey RLSbear,

It may help to force close all open apps on both devices, then reset both of the iPhones.

Force an app to close in iOS

Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset

If the devices are still unable to find each other, the next step would be to reinstall iOS on both iPhones by placing them in Recovery Mode, then choosing Update in iTunes.

  1. Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
  2. Put your device in recovery mode.
  3. When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond or doesn't turn onhttps://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201412

Sincerely,

Allen
