Apple Mail Message List Font in Mavericks

Hi all,

Is there a way to increase the size of the Apple Mail Message List Font in Mavericks when *NOT* in classic mode?

- the parameters seem to have no effect in this mode

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)
