right click broken on Apple mouse

After I updated to Word for Mac 2011 Version 14.4.9 (150325), I discovered that the right click feature is not working on both an old and a brand new Apple wired mouse. Rather than use the Control key each time I need to do a right click function using the wired mouse, I resorted to using the Magic Mouse, but I don't like it. The right click works on it, but I want it to work again on the wired mouse.

I have rebooted my iMac (OS 10.7.6), did Verify Permissions, quit and restarted Word and Excel, and the mouse still isn't right clicking without the Control key.
