My new iPhone 6 is being recognized by iTunes but not by my Windows 7 PC

So i just got a new iPhone 6 today, and went through the motions of setting up my new device, syncing my email, setting a passcode, etc. but when I plugged it into my computer for the first time, it was recognized by iTunes, but not by my PC.

• I have Windows 7
• I've already uninstalled and re-installed iTunes
• I tried the thing where you like try to fix the Apple Mobile Device Driver
• I've tried different USB ports on my computer and different cables
• iTunes, Windows, and and my iPhone are all up to date in terms of software
• The fact that my family's other iPhone is being recognized and the new phone isn't being recognized on my laptop either makes me think that it might have something to do with the phone, not my computer.

Please tell me there is some way to fix this without getting a new phone i literally got this one today
