Final Cut Pro X export problems

Hi,

I have the most updated version of FCPX (version 10.2). However, when I try to export, nothing works! I have been trying to export small videos to Youtube and Vimeo. Neither work. I then tried doing a simple command-E to export to my desktop-- nothing! There is no status update to let me know if anything is even exporting. So, I have no idea if it's even responding. When I search my computer, no videos ever show up, anywhere. I have to go through Compressor for exports and really wish this wasn't so.

I have searched online and not found any help, but have seen others experiencing this issue as well. Please help, this is incredibly frustrating. Might have to switch to Premier if silly glitches like these keep happening on FCPX.
