Streaming Interference

Often times when I'm watching a movie or streaming radio on my laptop, there is interference. For example, while watching Rain Man the original script is changed to "you're getting chips and salsa", as I am. Or, when I'm listening to the radio, it says something about my date the previous night. What is this? How does it work? Besides having a slight privacy issue, I would really like to watch these movies in their original scripts as well as the recorded lyrics.
