tthis just happened out of the blue when trying to check my order status, it's been working for the past 3 weeks

Give it time and try again as suggested. The term extremely busy can mean many things and may mean that the server has been down for a while and they are catching up. They won't necessarily say this to you.

No servers down now or Historically in the last 48 hours
