PDF Bookmarks annotations not syncing with iBooks, ? related to iBooks creating a new copy of the PDF whenever changes are made in iBooks
I have a few PDFs in iBooks which I have synced to my iPhone and my iPad (definitely the same file)
Any annotations and bookmarks or changes I make on the iPhone or iPad are synced between each other no problem.
I noticed that bookmarks and annotations were not appearing in iBooks on the mac. So I tried to make an annotation to see if it would sync the other way. Unfortunately it did not 😟 however I did notice that this happened.
This was a test PDF created in pages. Whenever I try to add an annotation in iBooks on the mac I get this error message.
"The original document can't be changed, so a duplicate with your changes has been created."
Why is iBooks doing this? iOS iBooks can add annotations and bookmarks no problem, why can't iBooks without creating a new version?!
I have looked at the permissions on the file and everything seems to be in order... they're set to read & write
I'm presuming that this is what is blocking bookmarks syncing, changes made on the iOS version can't be made on the mac version maybe.
Anyone get any ideas how to solve this issue? I want to be able to create annotations on PDFs using any of my devices and have them sync.
Thanks in advance for your help community
