My mouse will not stay connected to my Mac, I replaced batteries

MY mouse will not keep a connection with the Mac. I replaced the batteries, not the problem. does the mouse need to be replaced?

iMac with Retina 5K display, iOS 8.1.2

Is there any Wifi interference around, or USB3 devices?

Yes, I've been having this problem for the past week. I changed batteries, then ensured they wer snug with some paper. Todat I was totally unable to move the curser to make any connections. I thought about running out and getting a mouse with a sub port. But I've not had problems in the past although I don't us the computer that much I am now in a situation that I plan on using it every day.
