Unlocking iphone 5s

1. Apple did not lock your phone

2. Apple can not unlock it

3. Consult your carrier.

This is more of the dreadful EE customer service that we hear so much about. You could try taking it into an EE shop, and asking the staff to unlock it for you via their link to customer services, and that way you get to try the phone unlocked before you leave the store. May be worth a try.

I will say it one more time

1. Apple did not lock your phone

2. Apple can not unlock your phone.

3. Call your carrier to get it unlocked.

Yes. it is possible that if a phone had been previously hacked to provide unlocking, it may now become impossible to unlock legitimately.

It is also possible that EE failed to correctly unlock it. EE is the worst of the UK companies, awful customer service and barely trained support techs. (they may also be described as 'barely there')
