Songs in playlist exist but are invisible.

Hello. I have itunes 12, and when I go to a playlist, at the top I am told how many songs are in the playlist and how long the playlist is. However, none of the songs show up in the playlist (so I cannot move music or check/uncheck songs); at the same time this started all album artwork disappeared. Is there a way I can fix this?
