How can I play my playlist from my lockscreen?

I have a Iphone 5s, recently updated software to version 8.3, trying to play a particular playlist in the lockscreen, from my music, but it keeps playing a different one, in the lock screen. I don't want to open the music app to save battery life, so any advice on how I can play a particular playlist without opening having the "Music App," open?
