AirDrop where do files go when you AirDrop

I'm trying to transfer photos from my mac to my iphone 6 (ios 8.3) via airdrop. The whole process of discovering the iphone to send the photos its working out great but I'm not receiving a prompt message for accepting the incoming photos from my mac to my iphone. After that problem, I encounter a second problem that is where do files go when you Airdrop from Mac to Iphone. The photos aren't appearing on the iphoto app.
