In the middle of a download of a continuous recording, in multiple parts where the camcorder was paused, a red frame appears with these words. This has never happened before. Any idea what it is and how to deal with it?

As far as FCP is concerned, the clips with that alert are still on the camera. If you don''t need them for your project, ignore them. But if they're necessary for your story, yo'll need to resolve this. What steps did you follow when you imported?

I pulled the clips I needed down into the project line and, when finished, closed the project as normal. All seemed fine but when I next opened the project, the first few clips were there but the last three or four had the warning as I described. Unfortunately, I had to make room on the memory stick so re-formatted it. The original source is gone therefore.

If you didn't copy the card or create a camera archive and you reformatted the card, there is unfortunately nothing you can do. Typically, users experience this when they close the session before the application has completed its importing process.
