Can I recover a note from the Ipad?

I believe my Ipad has been hacked. I was searching for a document on my emails using my computer. In the search I found an email dated today containing a note I have on my Ipad with all the passwords. It was sent at the exact time that the new password was added. I permanently deleted this email from the AOL account using my computer so that nobody could access this information. When I checked the note in my Ipad with the passwords it had disappeared. Is there anyway to retrieve this note? Does this mean that my Ipad has been hacked?
